6th meeting of the Executive Network for Family Values

The Executive Network for Family Values, launched by the Mária Kopp Institute in 2019, met for the sixth time, now under the theme "Protecting family values". The hybrid meeting was attended by more than 30 representatives of 20 organisations from 13 countries.

The participants were welcomed by the President of the Kopp Mária Institute, Tünde Fűrész. Attila Beneda, Deputy State Secretary for Families at the Ministry of Culture and Innovation, said in his opening speech that the Hungarian government is building its family policy on three pillars: promoting work-life balance, providing adequate housing and ensuring financial security for families. Balázs Molnár, Deputy State Secretary for European Policy at the Ministry of EU Affairs, outlined the priorities of Hungary's EU Presidency, including competitiveness and demography, detailing the horizontal outcomes on demography of each Council meeting. Dr. Sharifa Al-Emadi, Executive Director of the Doha International Family Institute, presented the results of the global conference on family and global megatrends organised by the organisation to mark the 30th anniversary of the UN Year of the Family.

Antoine Renard, Honorary President of FAFCE, presented the F(Family)7 movement and its objectives, which they have launched to put families on the schedule of the G7. Committee member Kinga Joó presented to the participants the elements of the exploratory report "Ensuring a needs-based work-life balance for all". Committee of the Regions member Adam Karácsony presented his opinion on the Communication on "Demographic Change in Europe: a toolbox for action".

Afterwards, participants shared their organisations' current projects and challenges. The hybrid conference was moderated by Dr. József Árpád Mészáros, Vice President for Strategy and Coordination of KINCS.
